Recently, BASF SE, a global chemical giant, announced that it has confirmed exploratory negotiations with the RAG Foundation (Germany) and Evonik Industries AG regarding a potential acquisition of Evonik.

In Sichuan Province’s Leshan City, FoHua Tongda operates a joint venture in which Evonik holds a 51% stake and FoHua holds 49%. The associated 200,000 tons/year industrial-grade hydrogen peroxide plant was commissioned in June this year. Additionally, Evonik has licensed a 200,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide unit to Pingmei Shenma Nylon Technology.

The potential integration of Evonik into BASF introduces uncertainty for existing partner companies.
