September exports were distributed across multiple countries, while the advantage of domestic self-sufficiency remains solid.

Published on 2026-10-22

Introduction: In September 2026, China’s styrene import and export market continued to maintain a pattern of low imports and high exports. Export volumes extended the strong momentum seen in August, rising slightly month-on-month to 118,000 tons. While this represents a modest increase from the previous month, it still marks a significant year-on-year surge. Import volumes fell back to 6,400 tons; although this is a clear month-on-month decline, overall levels remain extremely low, resulting in limited impact on the domestic spot market. This continues to reinforce China’s advantage in domestic self-sufficiency.
