On October 13, Sinopec East China lowered its quoted price for diethylene glycol (DEG) by RMB 150 per ton. Shanghai Petrochemical is trading at RMB 6,150 per ton with low operating loads. Yangzi Petrochemical and BASF-YPC are also quoting at RMB 6,150 per ton. The BASF-YPC 340,000 tons/year unit is operating at approximately 40% capacity. Market participants hold a bearish outlook on future prices.
