Statistics of Capacity Utilization for the Benzene Industrial Chain (July 24-30, 2026)

Petroleum benzene output was 357,200 tons, up 4,500 tons or 1.28% from the previous cycle, with a capacity utilization rate of 59.31%, up 0.75 percentage points from the previous cycle. The output increase during the cycle mainly came from units restarted in the previous cycle being reflected in current-cycle output. In addition, units such as Wanda Tianhong's reforming unit were shut down for maintenance.

The domestic benzene hydrogenation unit operating rate was 65.98%, up 3.49 percentage points from last week. China's weekly hydrogenated benzene output this week was 87,500 tons, an increase of 4,600 tons from last week. During the week, load rates at Henan Jinyuan and Panjin Ruide were reduced, while units at Henan Yutian, Shandong Hengxin, and Puyang Shengyuan were restarted.

This week, the capacity utilization rates of major downstream products—styrene, caprolactam, and adipic acid—declined from the previous period, while phenol and aniline utilization rates increased. Styrene units in Northeast, North, and Northwest China experienced temporary faults, leading to short-term load reductions and shutdowns. For caprolactam, output at Pingmei Shenma increased. Phenol units were relatively stable this period, with supply from units restarted last period increasing this period. For aniline, Dongying Huatai was shut down briefly. For adipic acid, Shenma and Huafeng units were restarted.
