Published on 2025-12-31

According to the Business Spot commodity market analysis system, acetic acid prices continued to rise in December. By December 30th, the price was $2750/ton, an increase of $200/ton compared to the beginning of the month at $2550/ton, marking an increase of 7.84%. The acetic acid market continued its strong upward trend in December. Despite some manufacturers restarting their units, unexpectedly, others reduced production, coupled with slow recovery in Sophos' operation in Jiangsu, leaving the acetic acid operational rate relatively low. Meanwhile, downstream buyers made purchases as needed, creating a good market trading atmosphere. Enterprise inventories continued to decrease, and manufacturers were keen on maintaining prices. Under the dominance of suppliers, acetic acid prices continued to rise. The raw material methanol market experienced moderate fluctuations. By December 30th, the domestic market average price was $2200/ton, an overall increase of 3.53% compared to the beginning of the month at $2125/ton. The methanol port market had low inventory levels, providing support for the price. The mainland market operated at high operational rates, with downstream purchases primarily driven by essential needs. The potential for price increases was limited, leading to a market supply-demand game. The methanol market continued to fluctuate and consolidate. Future Market Forecast: Business Spot analysts believe that the acetic acid market still has maintenance plans for supply, and enterprise inventories may continue to decline. Downstream preparations before the Spring Festival are expected to boost market trading sentiment, with strong support from positive factors. It is anticipated that acetic acid market conditions will continue to be robust in January next year, with specific follow-up actions from downstream sectors being closely monitored.
