Based on the East China region, today's phenol price closed at 9,850 RMB/ton, a decrease of 25 RMB/ton from the previous trading day. The domestic phenol market sentiment was slightly weak today. The downward trend in both raw material prices increased market participants' wait-and-see attitude. End-use factories mostly purchased based on rigid demand and were cautious about chasing high prices, with some low-price bidding activity. Suppliers faced difficulties selling at opening prices, but considering that contract fulfillment pressure at month-end is not significant, there is limited room for price reductions, and follow-up negotiations have been insufficient.
Today, the overall operating rate of the domestic phenol industry was around 72%. Today, the profit margin for phenol-ketone enterprises was -960 RMB/ton.
The domestic phenol market weakened slightly within a narrow range today. Cost prices declined, lacking support from the cost side. End-use enterprises adopted a wait-and-see approach, with bidding intentions remaining relatively low. Holders found it difficult to sell at opening prices, limiting room for concessions, resulting in a quiet negotiation atmosphere. It is expected that the domestic phenol market will operate within a narrow range tomorrow. Attention should be paid to fluctuations in cost prices and end-user purchasing sentiment; cautious operation is recommended.
Pure Benzene Market: The East China pure benzene spot market faced downward pressure today, with negotiated references between 10,350–10,580 RMB/ton, largely consistent with morning forecasts. Weakening crude oil prices significantly dampened spot market sentiment, and expectations of weak demand interacted with current realities. However, low inventory levels and cost support persisted, leading to a rebound after the initial decline.
Bisphenol A Market: Based on the East China region, today's East China bisphenol A price closed at 11,250 RMB/ton, within a range of 11,200–11,300 RMB/ton, an increase of 150 RMB/ton from the previous trading day, meeting morning expectations. The domestic bisphenol A market rose slightly within a narrow range today. Due to significant losses for bisphenol A producers, listed prices continued to rise, and holders adjusted their offers upward accordingly. However, passing high costs down to downstream customers remains difficult; transactions at high prices are scarce, limiting the extent of increases in actual deal negotiations, with very low transaction volumes.
