Taking the Shandong region as the benchmark, DMC closed at 5,300 RMB/ton today, representing a rise of 100 RMB/ton compared to the previous business day. The domestic DMC market continued its upward trend today, with negotiation centers shifting higher. Producer quotes remained firm, and holders maintained a bullish stance with reluctance to sell, resulting in limited availability of low-priced cargo. The cost side provided some support, combined with relatively low operating rates for certain units, keeping supply pressure temporarily unnoticeable, which boosted market sentiment. As the National Day holiday approaches, downstream pre-holiday stockpiling has gradually wound down, inquiry activity has cooled, and procurement has primarily focused on essential small orders.
Looking ahead, the current market exhibits characteristics of "strong prices but reduced transaction volume." Prices may maintain a firm consolidation before the holiday with limited volatility. After the holiday, key factors to watch include downstream restocking pace, unit restarts or maintenance schedules, and raw material price trends.
Propylene Oxide (PO): The domestic PO market moved slightly lower within a narrow range while remaining generally stable today. Supply-side units operated stably. Trading atmosphere weakened overall due to the approaching National Day holiday. Considering limited new orders during the break, some downstream users planned to reduce loads, leading to an overall decrease in purchasing. Some negotiations followed up, causing the center of gravity in main markets to shift slightly downward. The market consolidated weakly; attention should be paid to actual transactions.
Polycarbonate (PC): The domestic PC market fluctuated narrowly and consolidated today. By afternoon close, the negotiation range for domestic PC materials in East China was 12,500–14,850 RMB/ton, with the overall negotiation center remaining largely unchanged from yesterday. This week, domestic PC factories lowered ex-factory prices by 300–600 RMB/ton. Zhejiang Petrochemical's auction opened flat for four rounds, settling 100 RMB/ton lower than last week. In the spot market, both East and South China regions were quiet and consolidating. Although the cost side remains relatively firm, industry supply-demand dynamics continue to show clear tension. With significant uncertainties in the external environment during the National Day long holiday, both buyers and sellers remain cautious and in wait-and-see mode. Downstream on-site procurement and stockpiling weakened compared to yesterday, resulting in a thin trading atmosphere.
