Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak stated at an event in Moscow on March 18 local time that the world is facing the most severe energy crisis in 40 years. Novak noted that if the Strait of Hormuz were to be blocked, it would affect approximately one-third of global oil and petroleum product trade. Additionally, 20% of the world's natural gas production would be unable to reach the market.
