According to the commodity market analysis system of Business Society, the price of activated carbon was 12,800 yuan/ton at the beginning of the week and 12,833 yuan/ton at the end of the week, representing a price increase of 0.26%.

Domestic coconut shell activated carbon manufacturers raised prices this week. The ex-factory price of coconut shell activated carbon for water purification in East China ranged between 9,500 and 13,000 yuan/ton. For columnar coal-based activated carbon with an iodine value of around 1,000, the price ranged from 8,200 to 9,500 yuan/ton. Coconut shell activated carbon is in high demand in fields such as water treatment, air purification, and sodium-ion batteries. Additionally, extended shipping cycles, increased storage requirements, and stricter environmental regulations have raised import costs, providing favorable support for price increases.

Major coconut-producing countries in Southeast Asia have been affected by natural disasters and policy adjustments, leading to a shortage in the supply of coconut shell carbonized materials and driving up prices for coconut shell carbon. Starting from January 2026, coconut shell carbonized materials will be classified as hazardous goods, significantly increasing transportation, packaging, and storage costs. This is expected to further impact the prices of end products.

Forecast: Due to tight supply of domestic coconut shell activated carbon raw materials and rising costs, it is anticipated that activated carbon prices will likely remain high with fluctuations in the short term.
