The anhydrous hydrogen fluoride market maintained a tight supply-demand balance this period and rebounded against the broader trend. The average price in Jiangsu was 14,829 yuan/ton, up 3.02% month-on-month, while the average price in Zhejiang was 14,779 yuan/ton, up 3.69% month-on-month. In August, the price of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in Jiangsu increased by 3.02% month-on-month, and contract pricing for August rose by 400–600 yuan/ton. The overall market showed a tight supply-demand balance in August. At the beginning of the month, pricing moved up sharply, driven mainly by major northern producers. Meanwhile, the raw material fluorite market also rose under the same impetus, intensifying cost pressure. On the demand side, rigid demand remained the mainstay. Downstream refrigerant producers faced high inventory pressure, and although plants maintained operation, there was no significant incremental demand to support the upstream. Terminal production schedules kept declining. Despite improving demand for lithium hexafluorophosphate, its actual supporting effect was limited. Mid-month, some spot orders entered the market, lifting the trading range and reinforcing traders' price-supportive stance.
Overall demand follow-up for anhydrous hydrogen fluoride remains sluggish, and supply continues to be regionally tight. Market participants will keep watching the resumption of operations at major northern plants. The anhydrous hydrogen fluoride index is expected to rise to 15,000–15,300 yuan/ton, an increase of 300–350 yuan/ton month-on-month.
