Tight Supply-Demand Balance Maintains Upward Market Trend (September 2026)

Published on 2026-09-30
  1. Monthly Market Analysis

This period, the anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF) market maintained a tight supply-demand balance with prices trending upward. The average price in Jiangsu Province stood at 15,073 RMB/ton, marking a month-on-month increase of 1.65%. In Zhejiang Province, the average price was 15,013 RMB/ton, rising 1.58% from the previous month. Specifically for September, AHF prices in Jiangsu rose by 1.65% month-on-month, with contract pricing increasing by 300–350 RMB/ton. Although sulfuric acid prices softened, fluorite remained firm at high levels, providing strong cost support following industry consolidation. Facing regional supply shortages, producers maintained steady production rhythms; however, due to bearish long-term outlooks, many accepted orders exceeding their standard capacity. On the demand side, overall activity weakened. Major downstream sectors, particularly refrigerants, faced critical inventory shortages, prompting production adjustments at various plants. While sentiment in industries such as lithium hexafluorophosphate production remained positive, actual consumption was limited, foreshadowing potential weakness in future market trends.

  1. Analysis of Market Influencing Factors
  1. Support from raw materials has diminished, while long-term demand remains weak.
  2. Sulfuric acid prices have softened from highs, whereas fluorite remains firm at elevated levels; consequently, cost pressures have eased compared to earlier periods.
  1. Next Month’s Market Forecast

The AHF market is expected to trend downward amid consolidation. Regional supply tightness may slow the decline, but reduced cost pressures and weakening demand will drive market movements. For October, the AHF index is projected to fall to 14,500–14,800 RMB/ton, representing a month-on-month decrease of 250–600 RMB/ton.
