Titanium Dioxide Market Weekly Outlook (September 14, 2026)

Published on 2026-09-14
  1. Market Review

Last week, the titanium dioxide (TiO₂) market remained generally stable. The domestic TiO₂ market is gradually reflecting the traditional "Golden September" peak season demand. Driven by previous price increase notices, the industry has a strong willingness to halt declines. Most manufacturers adopted a strategy of partial trial price increases combined with a wait-and-see approach, resulting in a prevalent cautious sentiment in the market. Currently, mainstream ex-factory prices for TiO₂ are: rutile type at 12,800–15,200 RMB/ton, anatase type at 12,300–13,200 RMB/ton, and chloride process products at 15,500–16,800 RMB/ton. Actual transactions are primarily negotiated on a case-by-case basis, with specific high-end or low-end grades priced separately.

  1. Market Highlights

① Titanium concentrate: For Panzhihua grade with 46% TiO₂ content, the reference price for 10-mesh concentrate is 1,180–1,230 RMB/ton.

② Sulfuric acid: As of the last working day, the sulfuric acid market maintained an overall weak trend. In Hubei province, the delivered reference price for 98% smelter-grade acid was 1,250–1,350 RMB/ton; in Yunnan province, the delivered reference price for 98% smelter-grade acid was 1,400–1,450 RMB/ton.

Saw TiO₂ prices holding steady as the "Golden September" demand kicks in. While partial hikes show producer confidence, weak sulfuric acid costs could squeeze margins if downstream buyers stay cautious. I’m watching ca..
