Trading Overview of the Toluene Market in South China on October 21

Today, the mainstream quoted price for toluene in the South China market stood at RMB 8,900–8,950 per tonne, down by RMB 50 per tonne from the previous trading day. On the preceding trading day, prices of toluene and xylene exhibited volatile strength, driven by rising crude oil and aromatic benchmarks; however, downstream demand remained weak. Overnight, both crude oil and aromatics futures declined, dampening market sentiment. Although tight domestic supply provided some support, downstream procurement activity continued to be sluggish. The spot market is expected to remain soft in the short term.
