Weekly Production Profit Statistics for DOTP Samples in China (October 16–22, 2026)

Published on 2026-10-22

During the reporting period (October 16–22, 2026), the average weekly production gross profit for sample DOTP enterprises in Zhejiang, China, stood at 301 RMB/ton. The theoretical weekly profit rose by 69 RMB/ton compared to the previous period, representing a week-on-week increase of 29.74%.

Average prices for the raw materials, n-octanol and purified terephthalic acid (PTA), moved in opposite directions during the week. However, the increase in the average price of DOTP exceeded the rise in production costs, further expanding the theoretical profit margin for producers. Currently, the industry’s theoretical profit space remains ample.

Weekly Average Profit Reference Data:

  • N-octanol (Zhejiang region): Delivered price averaged 9,840 RMB/ton.
  • PTA: Ex-factory price averaged 6,966 RMB/ton.
  • Processing fee: Calculated at 700 RMB/ton.
  • Total Weekly Average Cost (Zhejiang region): 10,359 RMB/ton.

Methodology Note:
The DOTP profit calculation is defined as the difference between the market price of DOTP and its production cost. Chempricehub’s reported DOTP profit refers specifically to the theoretical gross margin for DOTP in the Zhejiang region. The statistical period covers the weekly average from last Friday to this Thursday, with data released between 14:00 and 17:00 on Thursdays.

DOTP margins jumped 29.74% to 301 RMB/ton in Zhejiang as price hikes outpaced mixed feedstock costs for PTA and n-octanol. While current profit space looks ample, I remain cautious about sustainability given volatile raw..
