Weekly Statistical Data on Production Profit of n-Butanol Samples in China (September 11–17, 2026)

Published on 2026-09-17

According to Chempricehub data, the weekly average profit for n-butanol was 1,054 yuan/ton this week, an increase of 293 yuan/ton from the previous period. This rise was primarily driven by propylene feedstock prices fluctuating slightly upward in line with crude oil prices. Although downstream operating rates declined, leading to a slight reduction in demand and temporary lower transaction volumes, overall supply remained tight. Consequently, n-butanol market prices maintained a high-level fluctuation.

This week, the average price of propylene feedstock rose by 270 yuan/ton, while the average price of n-butanol increased by 460 yuan/ton, resulting in improved profit margins for n-butanol producers.

Sample Description:

  • Calculation Method: The profit margin is calculated as the difference between the ex-factory price of n-butanol and its production cost. Chempricehub tracks profits for n-butanol produced via the oxo-synthesis process in the Shandong region.
  • Definition & Schedule: The "weekly average profit" reported by Chempricehub refers to the mainstream gross ex-factory margin for n-butanol in Shandong Province. The statistical period covers Friday of the previous week through Thursday of the current week. Data is released on weekdays between 13:30 and 17:00 (China Standard Time).

Saw n-butanol margins jump 293 yuan/ton in Shandong. Despite softer downstream demand, tight supply and crude-linked propylene costs kept prices high. This margin expansion feels unsustainable if feedstock volatility per..
