Polymethyl-acrylate paste, derived from methyl methacrylate and related acrylic monomers, serves as an intermediate for high-performance materials. Its main downstream uses include warp sizing agents for textiles, where it replaces polyvinyl alcohol and offers easier desizing with less starch consumption. It also feeds into adhesive emulsions for electrostatic flocking, thickeners for oilfield applications that can boost crude output, and coatings for coated paper, providing better color retention and printability than styrene-butadiene latex. After drying and crystallization, the paste becomes powder resin used in water treatment, dispersants, and other functional materials. Demand from these sectors, especially textiles and paper coatings, directly influences paste consumption patterns across China.
