The mainstream toluene quotes in South China today stand at 6,200–6,350 RMB/ton, down 100 RMB/ton from the previous trading day. Sinopec South China's toluene list price is set at 6,350 RMB/ton. Today, the domestic toluene and xylene markets are on a weak downtrend, weighed by declines in international crude oil and aromatics futures, which has led to a weak market sentiment. Downstream participants are largely adopting a wait-and-see approach, with insufficient procurement demand. The price drop in East China is relatively large. In South China and North China, supply pressure is lower, resulting in relatively moderate declines. Affected by the continued weakness in crude oil, the overall market remains bearish, and the short-term trend is expected to stay weak.
