ChemPriceHub Alert: The recovery of polyester yarn processing fees supports price stabilization.
Published on 2026-01-08

Despite a slight decline in the price of raw material polyester staple fiber, polyester yarn prices stabilized this week, with processing fees showing some recovery, supported by the continued destocking of polyester yarn and the expansion of corporate losses. During this period (20250105-0108), the average spot processing fee for monthly ring-spun T32S in Fujian was 3,765 yuan/ton, up 1.54% month-on-month. PriceSeek analysis of polyester yarn, with a bullish-bearish score of 1, indicates that polyester yarn prices stabilized this week, with processing fees rising by 1.54% month-on-month to 3,765 yuan/ton. This is primarily supported by continued destocking and the expansion of corporate losses, reflecting improved demand and alleviated supply pressure. Although the decline in raw material polyester staple fiber prices presents a bearish factor on the cost side, the recovery in processing fees suggests some restoration of industry profitability, exerting a generally positive impact on spot prices.

Polyester staple fiber, with a bullish-bearish score of -1, is noted to have experienced a slight price decline. Combined with futures data, the main contracts on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, such as 2609 (closing price 6,496 yuan/ton, down 36 yuan) and 2602 (closing price 6,472 yuan/ton, down 18 yuan), generally declined, indicating oversupply or weak demand. The decline in spot prices and the negative trend in futures contracts collectively constitute a generally bearish influence, possibly stemming from raw material-side pressure or market pessimism.
