ChemPriceHub Important Notice: Discovery of Super-Large Lithium Ore Deposit in Qinghai

Published on 2026-01-10

Recently, Chinese scientists have discovered a super-large lithium deposit during exploration in the salt lake region of Qinghai Province. PriceSeek's analysis of lithium carbonate indicates a bearish score of -1.5. The report highlights the discovery of a super-large lithium deposit in the Qinghai salt lake region, which is expected to significantly increase the supply of lithium raw materials, reduce production costs for lithium carbonate, and boost future supply, thereby exerting downward pressure on spot prices. This is considered a generally bearish factor. Combined with lithium carbonate futures market data, such as the main contract 2605 closing at 143,420 yuan per ton (down 220 yuan) and the 2607 contract closing at 144,140 yuan per ton (down 240 yuan), the market has already shown a downward trend. The discovery of the new deposit reinforces expectations of oversupply, potentially further depressing futures prices. Therefore, the score of -1.5 reflects a moderately bearish impact.
