Chempricehub Key Alert: Surge in Tetrachloroethylene Exports Boosts Prices

Published on 2026-01-12

January 12th news: According to customs statistics, in November 2025, China's tetrachloroethylene exports reached 7,000 tons, an increase of 259.9% month-on-month and 227.3% year-on-year. From January to November 2025, China's cumulative tetrachloroethylene exports totaled 45,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 120.3%. The main export destinations were the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Turkey, Mexico, and India, accounting for 54.2%, 7.1%, 4.4%, 3.8%, and 3.5%, respectively.

Chempricehub's analysis of tetrachloroethylene, with a bullish-bearish score of +1.5, indicates that the significant month-on-month and year-on-year growth in tetrachloroethylene exports in November 2025, along with the 120.3% increase in cumulative exports from January to November, primarily to countries such as the United Arab Emirates, reflects strong international demand. This has led to tightening domestic supply, thereby driving up spot prices. The surge in exports highlights an imbalance between market supply and demand, which is favorable for spot market conditions. Although the growth rate is substantial, it has not yet reached extreme event levels, resulting in a score of +1.5 (strong bullish signal).
