Morning Market Brief: Industrial C10 Aromatic Hydrocarbons

Published on 2026-10-23

I. Key Focus Points

  1. Crude Oil: Concerns that the U.S.-Iran conflict may escalate, combined with Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia heightening supply risks, drove international crude oil prices higher. NYMEX WTI crude oil futures (December contract) closed at $99.47/bbl, up $2.32/bbl, a week-on-week increase of +2.39%. ICE Brent crude oil futures (December contract) closed at $113.17/bbl, up $4.35/bbl, a week-on-week increase of +4.00%. China INE crude oil futures (December 2026 contract) rose by 1.2 to CNY 702/barrel in the day session and increased by 11.2 to CNY 713.2/barrel in the night session.

  2. Downstream Market: Sales of downstream high-boiling-point aromatic solvents remained sluggish.

Core Logic: Crude oil futures exhibited mixed movements; the downstream market for high-boiling-point aromatic solvents showed weak sales performance. Consequently, the industrial C10 crude aromatics market is expected to remain stable with a wait-and-see attitude.

II. Price List

III. Market Outlook

International crude oil prices closed significantly higher, boosting bullish sentiment among refineries. On the demand side, sales of downstream high-boiling-point aromatic solvents remain weak, and cutting plants maintain a strong wait-and-see attitude. Therefore, the industrial C10 crude aromatics market is expected to remain largely stable today with a wait-and-see approach, featuring only sporadic price increases.

Geopolitical crude spikes aren't translating into C10 margin gains here. With downstream solvent demand still sluggish, I expect capacity utilization to remain flat. It’s a classic case of feedstock cost pressure meetin..
