On August 24, Sinopec South China Company's listed price for toluene was set at 7,200 yuan/mt. Toluene and xylene prices moved higher the previous trading day, supported by gains in crude oil and a stronger aromatics night session. Over the weekend, Shandong independent refineries raised their quotations, and tight domestic supply underpinned the market. However, downstream demand remained largely needs-based, with traders cautious about chasing gains, resulting in subdued spot trading. Today, the spot market is expected to focus on catch-up gains.
