Petroleum benzene output stood at 396,700 tons, up 3,500 tons or 0.92% from the previous cycle, with capacity utilization at 66.05%, up 0.60 percentage points from the prior cycle. During this cycle, units including Wudi Xinyue's reforming unit were restarted, while some enterprises adjusted their operating loads.
The domestic benzene hydrogenation unit operating rate was 59.52%, down 4.45 percentage points from the previous week. China's hydrogenated benzene output for the week was 79,000 tons, down 5,900 tons from the prior week. During the week, Tangshan Zhongrun reduced its load, while Puyang Zhonghui Phase I and Hebei Ruixin Jinhua were shut down.
This week, capacity utilization among major downstream products increased for styrene compared with the previous period, while it declined for caprolactam, aniline, adipic acid, and phenol. For styrene, Zhejiang Petrochemical's ethylbenzene dehydrogenation unit and Northeast Bora's styrene unit resumed production successively during the week, while Ningxia Baofeng's unit experienced a temporary unplanned shutdown; one styrene unit in South China reduced its operating load for defect elimination and maintenance. For aniline, Shanxi Tianji halted for 3 days due to equipment failure, and Jiangsu Yangnong experienced an unplanned outage. For caprolactam, Lunan reduced its load in the short term, Sanning's load was lowered to just below 60%, and Baling Hengyi's load dropped to around 60%. For phenol, Huizhou Zhongxin's Phase II phenol/ketone unit restarted this period, though its stable operating time during the week was shorter than last week. Adipic acid units operated with normal fluctuations.
In the next period, taking into account recent maintenance and restart activities, capacity utilization is expected to rise for styrene, phenol, and caprolactam, and decline for aniline and adipic acid.
