Today, the butyl acrylate market consolidated at high levels. Feedstock n-butanol ran stable with a softer tendency, slightly easing cost pressure. Downstream buying remained need-based, and transaction prices stayed firm at high levels. It is expected that butyl acrylate will likely maintain high-level consolidation tomorrow.

  1. Related Product Markets

n-Butanol market: The Jiangsu n-butanol market was referenced at 8,200-8,300 CNY/ton ex warehouse. Prices moved steadily within a range, with a more cautious atmosphere. Downstream players operated prudently, and enquiries and transactions were mostly at the lower end of the range, with fewer high-price deals.

Acrylic acid market: In East China, acrylic acid negotiation intentions were at 7,600-7,700 CNY/ton, unchanged from the previous working day. Today, the domestic acrylic acid market oscillated within a range. At the start of the week, market sentiment was cautious. Acrylic acid plants and holders were not very active in offering. Downstream users maintained need-based enquiries, and spot negotiations remained stable.

Ethyl acrylate market: In East China, ethyl acrylate negotiations were at 10,200-10,500 CNY/ton, up 350 CNY/ton from the previous working day. Today, the ethyl acrylate market continued its upward trend. Raw material prices were broadly stable with minor changes. Some plant units were shut for maintenance, providing supply-side support. Ethyl acrylate plants and holders maintained high offers and actively supported the market. Some downstream sectors, such as textile auxiliaries and leather auxiliaries, followed up on need-based purchases. The market negotiation center strengthened and moved higher.

Methyl acrylate market: In East China, methyl acrylate quotes were around 9,200-9,400 CNY/ton, flat from the previous working day. Today, the methyl acrylate market consolidated within a range. On the feedstock side, methanol prices eased slightly while acrylic acid remained stable, so cost support still existed. Plants and holders maintained high offers, but downstream plants had limited acceptance of high-priced raw materials and only purchased small volumes on a need basis. Some buyers digested contract volumes, and the actual negotiation center remained at high levels.

Interesting to see capacity utilization only 56.2% while prices stay firm; feedstock cost easing hasn't broken the high-level consolidation. I expect firm offers to persist until downstream demand truly shifts.
