Based on the Shandong market, today's n-butanol closed at RMB 8,500–8,600/ton, consistent with morning expectations. The domestic n-butanol market price showed weak downward trends. It is reported that raw material propylene prices have fallen significantly in consecutive sessions, while downstream purchasing interest has diminished. High-priced offers have disappeared from the market, trading focus has shifted to lower price levels, some plants offered discounts to clear inventory, and transactions at low prices were relatively active.

  1. Production Dynamics

Today, the capacity utilization rate for domestic n-butanol stood at 76%. With propylene prices declining, the current profit margin for n-butanol producers is approximately RMB 1,145/ton.

  1. Price Forecast

Currently, downstream purchasing interest is weakening along with reduced market inquiries and poor transaction performance. Trading is centered around lower price levels. Producers are maintaining low inventories and actively offering discounts to sell inventory. Therefore, market prices are expected to remain volatile with a weak trend.

  1. Related Products Status

2-EH (2-Ethylhexanol) Market: In Jiangsu, the reference price for Grade 1 2-EH was RMB 9,200–9,250/ton. Dragged down by falling ex-factory prices in Shandong, market prices in East China declined. Buyer interest focused mainly on the mid-to-low end of quoted prices. Local spot supply remained tight, and factories maintained cautious shipping practices.
