April 22 (Xinhua) — The mainstream spot quotation for xylene in East China is in the range of 6,800–6,880 yuan per ton, down 10 yuan per ton from the previous trading day. International crude oil prices rebounded slightly after a sharp decline, but the boost to domestic chemical products remains limited. Following the significant decline in toluene and xylene prices earlier, coupled with the drop in weekend sales prices at Shandong local refineries, East China ports are expected to face downward pressure. At this stage, the price difference between PX and MX has widened, creating an arbitrage opportunity for toluene exports. Overall, the aromatics market is projected to maintain a weak and volatile pattern in the short term.
