Weekly Statistical Data on Cost and Profit Margins of Representative Propylene Oxide (PO) Production Processes in China

Published on 2026-11-05

According to data from Chempricehub, the weekly average profit for propylene oxide produced via the chlorohydrin process was -990.36 yuan/ton this period, an increase of 120.55 yuan/ton compared to the previous period. The average profit for the HPPO (Hydrogen Peroxide Propylene Oxidation) process was -1419.76 yuan/ton, a decrease of 21.70 yuan/ton compared to the previous period's average. During this cycle, the price of the primary raw material, propylene, declined from its high levels, while liquid chlorine fluctuated within a range. Consequently, profits for the two representative processes moved in opposite directions with limited overall change.

Table: Weekly Average Profit Comparison for Propylene Oxide Market

Unit: Yuan/ton

Sample Description: The propylene oxide sample profits calculated by Chempricehub cover both the chlorohydrin and HPPO processes in China, with a sample coverage rate of 100%.

Term Definition: Gross production profit is defined as the unit price of propylene oxide products minus the production cost expenses for the manufacturing enterprise.

Statistical Scope: The statistical period for Chempricehub's propylene oxide sample profits runs from last Friday to this Thursday.

Seeing PO margins stay deeply negative is concerning. The chlorohydrin process improved slightly due to lower propylene feedstock costs, but HPPO deteriorated. With capacity utilization pressured by weak downstream deman..
