What are the key technical specifications and safety data for DINP buyers?
DINP is a viscous, slightly odorous oil with APHA color below 50, acid value under 0.01% (as acetic acid), and ester content of 99.5%. Density at 25°C ranges 0.961–0.969 g/cm³, viscosity 83–125 mPa·s at 20°C, and flash point 219°C (open cup). It is insoluble in water but miscible with alcohols, ketones, ethers, esters, and aromatic solvents. For safety, DINP has low acute toxicity with rat oral LD50 above 10 g/kg. Chronic toxicity is considered similar to DOP, and a 12-week subacute feeding study in cats at 2 ml/kg showed no abnormalities. However, regulatory scrutiny remains high: DINP is restricted in EU children's toys and clothing to below 0.1% due to endocrine disruption concerns, so buyers must verify compliance for sensitive end-uses.

The LD50 data is reassuring, but don't overlook the regulatory angle. Even though DINP is 'safer' than DOP, it still faces restrictions in toys and childcare articles. If your downstream is in those sectors, consider DINCH or citrates instead.
