Petroleum benzene production reached 440,400 tons, a decrease of 1,800 tons from the previous period (-0.41%). The capacity utilization rate was 72.68%, down 0.30 percentage points compared to the last cycle. During this period, units such as the reformer at Anqing Petrochemical restarted, while small-scale cracking units at Shanghai Petrochemical shut down.
The operating rate of domestic benzene hydrogenation plants was 58.68%, a decrease of 1.16 percentage points from the previous week. Within the week, Ningxia Tongde Aixin, Ningxia Baofeng, Puyang Zhonghui, and Jinyuan Phase I halted operations, while Tangshan Zhongrun, Shandong Huineng, and Anhui Linhan restarted.
This week, capacity utilization rates for major downstream products styrene, phenol, and aniline increased, while those for caprolactam and adipic acid remained stable. For styrene, although one production line at Xinyang Styrene underwent maintenance shutdown last week, another line that had been offline earlier resumed feeding and returned to normal output at the beginning of this period. Caprolactam operating rates remained steady. For phenol, the phenol/acetone unit at SSPC (Tianjin) Petrochemical restarted. In the aniline sector, Shandong Jinling's Dawang 60,000-ton/year unit returned to operation; Jiangsu Fuqiang's 115,000-250,000 ton/year unit underwent maintenance; and Jiangsu Yangnong shut down. Regarding adipic acid, Taihua's unit performed maintenance during the week, and Hualu stopped its Phase I Line A 75,000-ton/year adipic acid unit on November 4.
For the next period, considering recent maintenance and restart activities, capacity utilization rates for styrene, phenol, and aniline are expected to rise, while those for caprolactam and adipic acid are projected to decline.
