How does DPHP's performance compare to DINP and DIDP in high-temperature PVC?
DPHP is one of the high-molecular-weight phthalates—alongside DINP and DIDP—that overcome DOP's limitations in fogging, heat stability, oil and water resistance. Its key selling points are low volatility, balanced low- and high-temperature flexibility, good resistance to migration and soapy-water extraction, and excellent UV stability for outdoor use. DPHP's standout feature is low fogging, which makes it preferred for automotive interiors where windshield haze is a concern. Typical specifications include APHA color below 25 and density around 0.958–0.968 g/cm³. EU safety assessments have cleared DINP, DIDP, and DPHP as safe for humans and the environment in approved applications, reinforcing their acceptance in regulated end-uses.

    For buyers, the practical differentiator is fogging value—DPHP beats DINP in automotive interior tests, but DINP often wins on cost per unit of efficiency. In cable compounds, DIDP still holds share for higher temperature ratings. Don't overlook that DPHP's lower volatility also means less plasticizer loss during processing, which can offset its higher raw material cost.
