Tranexamic acid, also known as transamin or coagulation acid, is increasingly favored in China's whitening skincare market due to its unique mechanism and safety profile. Unlike kojic acid, arbutin, or vitamin C that directly inhibit tyrosinase, tranexamic acid works by interfering with the plasminogen-plasmin system in keratinocytes, blocking the interaction that leads to UV-induced pigmentation. Clinical studies cited in Chinese dermatology circles show it is approximately 50 times more effective than vitamin C in removing dark spots and nearly 10 times more effective than fruit acid.
