Weekly Analysis of Theoretical Profit for Butadiene in China (October 1–7, 2026)

Published on 2026-10-10

I. Qualitative Analysis of Sample Trends

During the current period (October 1–7, 2026), the profit for the C4 extraction process was 4,137.98 yuan/ton, a decrease of 138.15 yuan/ton from the previous period. Due to the National Day holiday, there were no theoretical data updates for profits from the oxidative dehydrogenation and coal-to-oil processes. Within the week, crude oil and naphtha prices rose slightly, increasing cost pressure on butadiene production. With supplier prices remaining stable, profits from the extraction process contracted.

Table: Butadiene Production Profit by Process (Unit: Yuan/Ton)

Product Current Period Previous Period Change in Value Percentage Change
C4 Extraction 4,137.98 4,276.13 -138.15 -3.23%
Oxidative Dehydrogenation -- -114 -- --
Coal-to-Oil -- 1,350 -- --

II. Predictive Analysis of Sample Trends

Currently, the tight domestic supply situation has eased, offering limited guidance for market trends. Coupled with downstream resistance to high prices, the market is experiencing fluctuations at elevated levels. It is expected that butadiene production profits will stabilize.

Butadiene margins compressed as rising naphtha feedstock costs squeezed C4 extraction profits. With downstream resistance limiting price hikes, high-level volatility persists despite eased supply. This margin pressure hi..
